Country Apple Fritter Bread

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, baking powder, and ground cinnamon.

3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Combine with the dry ingredients and stir until just mixed.

4. Toss the chopped apples with 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon in a small bowl.

5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Layer with half of the apple mixture. Pour the remaining batter over the apples and top with the rest of the apple mixture. Lightly press the apples into the batter.

6. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

8. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled bread.
