Swedish Meatball Noodle Bake Recipe

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Meatballs:
– Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
– In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, finely chopped onion, egg, bread crumbs, ground allspice, ground nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
– Form the mixture into small meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
– Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through.

2. Cook the Noodles:
– While the meatballs are baking, boil the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

 

3. Make the Sauce:
– In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
– Stir in the all-purpose flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to create a roux.
– Gradually whisk in the beef broth and bring to a simmer.
– Stir in the sour cream and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Combine and Bake:
– In a large baking dish, combine the cooked egg noodles and baked meatballs.
– Pour the sauce over the noodle and meatball mixture, ensuring everything is well coated.
– Sprinkle the top with grated Parmesan cheese and shredded Swiss cheese.
– Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes, or until the dish is bubbly and the cheese is golden brown.

 

5. Serve:
– Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
